How do I get my Montana Concealed Weapons Permit?
1. Study and pass the online course.
Study and pass the $25.00 course. Throughout the Montana Concealed Carry Ed Course, you’ll be tested on what you’ve learned.
2. Print your Course Completion Certificate.
After successfully completing the online course, you’ll be able to immediately print out your Course Completion Certificate.
3. Apply for your Montana Concealed Weapons Permit.
File the required application with the appropriate authorities and include your Course Completion Certificate.
Montana Concealed Handgun Permit Requirements
Non-resident Permit Requirements
Montana issues concealed carry permits to residents only. Nonresidents are not eligible to apply for a concealed carry permit in the state of Montana.
Resident Permit Requirements
- You must have been a Montana resident for at least six months
- You must be a U.S. citizen
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must complete a concealed carry or firearms safety course
Montana Concealed Weapons Permits are issued by the Montana Department of Justice. For a formal concealed permit application, contact your local sheriff’s office.
