Another type of popular self-defense tool is an electrical device, such as a TASER^® or a stun gun.

• Many people choose to carry one of these devices instead of a gun, knife, or other item because they are non-lethal and may immobilize the target for a minimum of five seconds. This should give you plenty of time to remove yourself from the situation and find safety.
• Like with any self-defense option, make sure you become familiar with its operation, the recommended way to carry it, and how to use it correctly. This is not a toy!
