Course Outline

At home, you should follow safe storage practices even if you live alone. You should have a plan to secure your handgun from unauthorized persons, such as friends or family, children, maintenance workers, and uninvited people.

  • To make sure that your handgun is accessible to you at home, you may consider wearing it on your body. When you need to take your handgun off for storage, place it in a locking drawer or gun safe. This will help prevent unauthorized access to your gun.
  • If you live alone, you should still follow proper storage practices in case an unexpected situation arises and unauthorized persons need to enter your home.
