Government Code §411.173 (b)–(d): Reciprocity and Unilateral Agreements With Other States
When carrying a concealed handgun in another state under the authority of a reciprocity agreement, a Texas LTC holder must abide by the laws of that state.
- Having a Texas LTC does not give you blanket authorization to carry a handgun in another state. Here are some examples.
- New Mexico has reciprocity with Texas. However, New Mexico does not allow concealed carry for anyone under 21 years of age.
- Even if a state has reciprocity with Texas, some states will only honor the Texas license if the LTC holder is a Texas resident.
