There are two parts to getting your Texas License to Carry a Handgun (LTC): You must complete this online course AND an in-person proficiency test. After completing the online course, you will receive the LTC-104 certificate that you will take to the in-person test. Once you pass the in-person test, you will receive a completed LTC-104 certificate for your LTC application.

The LTC-104 certificate will expire 2 years from the completion date of the in-person proficiency test.

Note: You must be age 21 or older when you submit your LTC application.
