CCW Holder Cleared in Fatal Shooting

In Chicago, a 41-year-old man will not be charged for fatally shooting a would-be carjacker with a concealed handgun. Detectives have since determined that the man was justified in discharging his weapon.
Police say the shooting occurred around 3:15 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2019. The 41-year-old concealed carry license holder drew his own weapon after being confronted by an assailant with a drawn weapon near the intersection of State Street and Ida B. Wells Drive.
